After four years and an investment of 6 billion in two offshore wind farms, the LEGO Group achieved the ambition to operate with 100% renewable energy for consumption in all factories, shops and offices of LEGO. The company is part of a # re100 group of 175 corporations that have made a voluntary commitment to reduce their carbon emissions from renewable energy consumption. Most of these companies have chosen to consume Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) as a way to invest in the renewable energy market by documenting the origin and accounting for the avoided carbon in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol.
