The International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) Service is a global system for the certification and commercialization of attributes of electric power, with a guarantee on the origin of the renewable source and accepted by the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol for zero carbon accounting. A ECarbon is a company qualified by the I-REC Service to operate as a Registrant and Participant (Broker) company, either by consulting for the certification of enterprises or marketing the Certificates of Renewable Energy.
EKOenergy is an international ecological seal (eco-label) aimed at products. The EKOenergy Seal helps large and small energy consumers choose an environmentally friendly product, produced with 100% of renewable energy and which meets the sustainability requirements. hashtagEKOenergy is a non-profit social organization supported by a network of more than 40 NGOs involving more than 30 countries. ECarbon is the first Brazilian company qualified as a "service provider" to market and advise on the use of the EKOenergy Sea.
The "REC Brazil" Renewable Energy Certification Program is a joint initiative of the Brazilian Wind Energy Association (ABEEólica) and the Brazilian Clean Energy Association (Abragel), with the support from the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) and the Brazilian Association of Energy Marketers (ABRACEEL). The Program is part of the global I-REC Service mechanism, and ECarbon is an accredited company working with this certification model.
